Webinar:
Advancing Cytology with Digital Pathology Scanners

Insights from a University College London (UCL) validation study assessing the diagnostic performance of digital cytology using an IVDR-compliant NanoZoomer® Slide scanner system.

    Date: Wednesday 20th May
    Time: 3 pm – 4 pm CEST

What to expect

Digital cytology is rapidly evolving, offering opportunities to enhance diagnostic accuracy and streamline workflows. This webinar will present the findings from a comprehensive validation and verification study conducted at University College London (UCL). The study evaluated the performance of NanoZoomer scanners for scanning gynecological and non-gynecological cytology specimens, including ThinPrep preparations.

What you will learn

  1. Study Design & Methodology
Overview of scanning protocols, including optimization strategies to address sample variability and cellular density.

  2. Results and Concordance Analysis
Insights into diagnostic consistency between digital and glass slide reviews, including discordance factors and mitigation strategies.

  3. Workflow Implications
Practical considerations for implementing NanoZoomer scanners in cytology labs, balancing automation with accuracy.

The session will conclude with a discussion on lessons learned, challenges encountered, and recommendations for future adoption of digital cytology solutions.

Who should attend

  • Cytopathologists and histopathologists
  • Lab directors & clinical managers
  • Digital pathology program leads
  • Cytology screening professionals
  • Researchers in imaging, AI, or cytology innovation
